Comparisons to Tarot de Marseille Decks
The F. F. Solesio tarot closely resembles the Tarot de Marseille. However, the card titles are written in Italian, and some of the cards have been renamed. Additionally, the traditional black outlines that make up the illustrations are instead blue.
If you are familiar with the Nicolas Conver or Jean Dodal tarot, you will notice that some of the images in the F. F. Solesio tarot are reversed. For example, in The Hermit, the figure looks towards the right. In The Tower, the smoke bellows out from the left side of the tower.
Also, compared to the Tarot de Marseille, many small details have been added. For example, in The Chariot, the charioteer holds the horses’ reins in his hands. In The Hermit, the rays of light radiate from the lantern.
Reading the F. F. Solesio cards will allow you to deepen your knowledge and cultivate a profound understanding of historic tarot decks and the wisdom they contain.
